Just Wheels provides help and support to some of the most impoverished people in the world - disabled people in Tanzania. This group often faces poverty, poor health, a lack of education, and sadly, discrimination. We help mobility-impaired people to a brighter future by providing a wheelchair, support, and access to education. We are tremendously grateful for the support of KTCT in providing a life-changing opportunity for up to 60 young people with special needs. CHETI’s Primary School is located in a rural community in Arushaand educates over 530 students from local villages. All of thechildren attending this school live in poverty. CHETI Primary Schoolranks very highly in national exams and is a chance for students toget out of the poverty cycle their families are trapped in. In 2018 this school was massively oversubscribed. If life for the average, ‘healthy’ Malawian child is poor then life for those with severe mobility problems can be dire. The consequences for the child and its family can be many and debilitating. The Government of Malawi does not provide mobility aids. Even if they could find them, most families would not be able to afford a mobility aid for their child.
