Thank you supporters of Kitchen Table Charities Trust! Your generous donations made it possible for us to get a very necessary a grant for the purchasing of new carpentry machines for our project at this time of depressed global economy caused by Covid -19.  For years, it has been futile to source funds to equip this workshop! Our organisation looks around for victims of discrimination in its area and studies what sort of vocations and skills can be most utilized in the local economy. The newly bought machines are intended for practical-oriented courses in the carpentry workshops that will allow trainees to make assignments and deliver woodwork crafts that can be sold to generate the income necessary to fund their course materials. Mtende Community Project was overwhelmed to receive a grant for £6,000 from the KTCT as we are a small charity. Grateful thanks to the KTCT and their supporters for this grant to provide 16 teachers' desks and chairs and 130 desks for the children of St Michael's Primary School in Ekwendeni, Malawi. The school was built in 1992, has a roll of 1685, and the teachers and pupils have never had a desk to sit at so there is great excitement at the school for this welcome development. Equal Aqua is hugely grateful for the valuable support from KTCT. This will directly result in the construction and community training program for three primary schools in rural Uganda. Many infants and children from impoverished communities have no access to clean, safe drinking water, hence disease and premature death is common. Too often it is the young girls who have to walk for miles to find any source of water. The schools frequently have no reliable water tank. Child Mobility FOSCIM (Malawi) – Update – 1000 children helped!!

Thanks to you and KTCT we have just celebrated our 1,000th wheelchair for a child in Malawi and we were adamant it should be dedicated to you. (KTCT has contributed to approx 20% of these wheelchairs). Onwards now to the next 1,000 and to reach the 1,000 milestones for home chairs for tots. PROJECT GOALS: 1/ The project goal is to reduce maternal and infant mortality in Olokoro community through theprovision of clean delivery kits and Treated bed nets for delivery and infant care. 100 women (50pregnant women and 50 nursing mothers of babies 0‐1 year) in Olokoro community will receivedelivery Kits containing essential items such as Sterilized Scalpel blades, sterilized hand gloves,Sterilized absorbent delivery mats, cotton wool, methylated spirit.
